The people behind
your recovery
Every clinician at Shift brings something different to the table — and together, we've built a team capable of handling complex spinal presentations that most clinics can't. Here's who you'll be working with.
Principal Chiropractor & Owner
Dr. Jonathan Maszak
Jonathan was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Cleveland College of Chiropractic in Los Angeles. Before establishing Shift Spinal Health in Adelaide, he spent 18 years in Queensland as the owner and principal chiropractor of Mackay Chiropractic — including a long tenure as team chiropractor for the Mackay Meteors and Meteorettes professional basketball programs.
With over 100,000 chiropractic adjustments behind him, Jonathan now specialises in complex disc injuries and MT Core Smart Decompression. He runs all initial consultations and 12-visit progress evaluations himself, ensuring every patient's care is clinically directed from the start. A certified CrossFit trainer, he developed The Shift 4 — Shift's in-house rehabilitation framework built to restore lasting spinal capacity, not just manage symptoms.
Associate Chiropractor
Dr. Santo Perrotta
Santo grew up in Adelaide's western suburbs before completing his chiropractic studies at RMIT University in Melbourne, graduating with distinction. He has since returned home to practice at Shift.
His approach is active and movement-focused — integrating soft tissue therapy, manual adjusting, joint mobilisation, low-force techniques, and exercise-based rehabilitation to build strength and long-term resilience. Santo brings several years of experience as a sports trainer across local AFL and soccer clubs and holds an ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning qualification. He has undertaken further development through the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) and holds a dry needling certification.
Associate Chiropractor
Dr. Omar Khudair
Omar trained at the Australian Chiropractic College, where an emphasis on hands-on clinical practice shaped his approach from the outset. He has since developed a clinical style that balances manual and tonal techniques — meeting patients where they are, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
At the core of his work is a belief in the body's innate capacity to heal and adapt. Omar's care is patient-centred and empowering — he's less interested in creating dependency on treatment and more focused on helping people understand what's happening, why, and how to move forward. His patients consistently describe his approach as calm, thorough, and genuinely supportive.
Associate Chiropractor
Dr. Mark Rice
Mark brings over a decade of chiropractic experience to the Shift team. After building and running My Hub Chiro and Physio for nine years, he spent the past two doing something a little out of the ordinary — a full lap of Australia, taking on locum positions along the way in some of the country's most remote and remarkable locations, including Hayman Island and Coober Pedy.
That kind of work sharpens a clinician fast: adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable treating a wide range of presentations with minimal fuss. Mark is trained in joint mobilisation, HVLA manipulation, blocking, dry needling, and soft tissue therapy. He's now back in Adelaide, seeing patients at Shift's Allenby Gardens clinic on Mondays and Thursdays.
